The specialised Learning Programme in Technical Support is intensive and career-orientated. Opening the door to tomorrow’s world of work, it acts as a powerful launchpad to further studies in any of our Higher Certificates in Information Systems (IS). Build the knowledge and skills for work in a range of technical or support functions in the IT industry.

This Learning Programme provides you with a sound theoretical foundation of, and practical experience in operating system, computer systems and networking. The emphasis throughout is on technical application and on identifying and solving hardware-related problems. The core subject areas include A+, Network+ and Windows Server.

You also cover two broad topics that will be useful in any computer and business environment, namely Computer Literacy and Personal Skills Development. ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

This programme provides students with the essential knowledge and skills for computing support, networking, security, cloud and mobility to enable them to work in the industry to provide systems and network support. Successful students can also complete the internationally-recognised CompTIA (The Computing Technology Industry Association) vendor-neutral IT certifications in these areas to improve employability and impact.

WHO SHOULD ENROL FOR THIS PROGRAMME?

Individuals who are looking for their first job in IT with the aspiration to build a career and eventually specialise in cybersecurity, cloud computing or software development, or to become specialists in network and systems support. This programme is also a solid foundation for other areas, such as programming.

In this programme, you will gain advanced web design skills with CSS, Dreamweaver, and graphic techniques. You will learn about web page design, form creation and image optimisation for web and print. Additionally, you will master tasks like working with selections, layers, masks, and image modes, enhancing your web design proficiency.

Entry Requirements

Grade 10 Certificate; or National Certificate (Vocational) Level 2; or equivalent qualification OR Learners can apply for entry into the programme from the Office.
